Hackathon prototype / pixel action RPG

Yusuke.

Bell Before Dusk is a portrait-oriented supernatural action RPG prototype about protecting an ordinary town from a damaged spiritual boundary.

Yusuke game bible with world zones, character, gameplay systems, and UI

Core fantasy

Protect a humble life from an unsettled world.

Yusuke is a hunter protecting what matters. The town, forge, inn, and townsfolk establish ordinary life before the player enters spaces shaped by spirits, fog, and damaged wards.

The prototype is deliberately small. Its job is to prove that exploration, gathering, combat, and repair can reinforce the same fantasy instead of behaving like disconnected features.

Playable loop

Four verbs. One connected system.

01

Explore

Move between the post town, haunted field, and shrine boundary to read the world and find the next objective.

02

Gather

Collect cedar, ash, and other materials that connect exploration directly to progression.

03

Repair

Restore damaged wards to rebalance threatened spaces and advance the field objective.

04

Defend

Face spirits while protecting the resources needed to complete each repair.

Design artifact

The game bible keeps the loop visible.

The board aligns the core fantasy, world zones, character actions, NPC roles, gameplay systems, HUD, and visual direction in a single frame.
